Hi. Been too busy for MONTHS to update this blog even though I had an ever-growing list of songs and albums (non-classical) I enjoyed in 2023. But here’s a list of albums released in 2023 that I enjoyed the most. I’m including Kurt Vile’s EP because it’s longer than some LPs, and is definitely longer than Monae’s EP-sized album (still enjoyed it a lot and it’s been on constant rotation on my commute, lately).
In no particular order!
Updated on 31 December 2023 because I completely forgot another handful of excellent albums I enjoyed in 2023! I’m sure my list reveals the fact that I’m a gently aging muso. My indie concert-going days may be over but my tastes remain constant. I like a lot of the newer stuff coming out but there is much that, while I enjoy the music — I really can’t relate to the sentiments. I’m not sure how much that matters in the long run but music attachment is subjective, no?
